We offer three different kinds of accommodations:

At first floor, apartment Girasoli (Sunflowers) , about 45 square meters, composed
|
|
|
by living room with a double sofa-bed , kitchen, one bedroom one bathroom.
|
|
|
Perfect to host 2 to 4 persons. It is equipped with bedlinen, bathlinen
|
|
|
and tableclothes, hairdryer, courtesy kit (shampoo, soap), tv, wi-fi connection,
|
|
|
espresso coffee machine, washing machine, iron and iron board. Airco not available.
|
|
|
|
On second floor we offer the studio flat Lavanda (Lavender) and the double room
|
|
|
Papaveri (poppies). Lavanda is a nice bedroom with corner kitchen,
|
|
|
little table and chairs, and a tiny nice blacony overlooking to the town bell tower.
|
|
|

Pienza World Heritage Site

The village of Pienza, a symbol of beauty and aesthetic harmony, was
|
|
|
declared by UNESCO heritage of humanity in the year 1996.
|
|
|
|
|
Pienza is a small and charming Tuscan village, under the province of Siena, which together
|
|
|
with Monticchiello, San Quirico d’Orcia, Montalcino, Radicofani and Castiglione d’Orcia,
|
|
|
|
and other small villages in the area, characterize that particular and wonderful territory
|
|
|
|
that goes by the name of Val d'Orcia: a natural, artistic and cultural park just under
|
|
|
|
the Mount Amiata, declared by UNESCO world heritage of humanity in 2004. It is in the
|
|
|
|
beating heart of the Val d’Orcia, the splendid valley which, with its hills and cypresses,
|
|
|
|
develops along the river Orcia, symbol of excellence and harmony of the landscape,
|
|
|
|
which has inspired school painters. The ancient medieval village known
|
|
|
|
with the name Corsignano, which in 1462 became Pienza.

Monticchiello The first document relating to the free Municipality of Monticchiello bears

|
|
the date 1243. That moment marks the start of the most flourishing and glorious period

in the history of this fortified village: the construction works of the Cassero, the walls

|
|
and the Church are completed; crafts and trade are developed; agriculture is improved;
|
|
|
the population increases and the Municipality issues statutes in the vernacular language:
|
|
|
the people take an active role in political life by making their voices heard through
|
|
|
the so-called Council of “one (member) per family”. Today, this charming medieval
|
|
|
village is a refined tourist destination, known first of all for the ancient Teatro Povero,
|
|
|
cultural pride of the entire Val d'Orcia and still a strong icon of the intellectual attitude
|
|
of the town and the ability of its people to "go out in the streets" to reaffirm their values
|
|
as they did in the glorious past, addressing current social and political issues.
